So I usually like Victoria Beckham’s line, but the one with the cat print? Not my kinda taste.
Sure, it’d look cute on some people but it definitely would fail as an outfit on me – it’s just not me.
The collection above was complemented by Charlotte Olympia’s heels, and yes, it was also cat print.
Then Charlotte Olympia started churning kitty shoes like these:
Now, I wasn’t overly excited – I mean, with a price tag going into the hundreds of pounds…I wasn’t going to be a fan.
Then.
I walked into New Look when it was having one of its recent sales a few weeks back, and I spotted this ultra cute cat print top in a beautiful colour, at only £7! It was too cheap to resist, and did I mention it has an awesome back??
Top: New Look; Belt: H&M; Spiked cuff: Cuff and Neck; DIY chunky paperclip bracelets (tutorial soon!)
It’s a cat and mouse playing house! With a skinny belt, it transformed itself into an ultra cute peplum top! It’s something I normally don’t wear, but what can I say? Cheap and cute? Yes please! (Maybe also that the print is quite subtle!)
What are your thoughts on the cat print trend?

My absolute favourite is Miu Miu’s! I prefer their swallow and daisy print from the Spring 2010 collection, but the cat print was quite cute too!
I’m STILL searching for the platform shoes in my size, but having the wallet is pretty cool too 😉
Peaches said:
I agree with you Aggie! Miu Miu’s swallow prints are a darling, and are very cute! Ooh, are you searching for the platform shoes? They may have them on Net-a-Porter!
Kirsten said:
Haha great post! At first when I saw the photos of the collection, I agreed with you: the print is cute but I wouldn’t wear it either. But the top you found is so nice! It’s subtle and it has such a nice colour! Oh and the back is amazing! Good find!

Peaches said:
Thanks Kirsten! What I like about the top is that the print is so subtle and of such a nice colour too! The back is such a great look as well, love it!

I’m kind of loving whimsical prints. I’m usually not a print girl, but fun prints are winning me over lately. Love your top– it looks fab belted like that!
Peaches said:
Thanks Jen! Just putting the peplum into my outfit hehehe 😉 I know – prints are growing on me too!

That top is so cute and what a steal! I actually love all these fun prints, brings a touch of whimsey to your regular floral/animal prints. I think my favourite print I’ve seen so far is the bicycle.

Ooh I’ve never seen a bicycle print one….that’d look great with a Cambridge Satchel to accessorise! 😀

The shoes, all of them are to die for. ❤ ❤ ❤

They’re cute!! But too expensive to justify buying them…oh well! Thanks for popping by Chila! 😀

I have to admit I love any animal print…and I mean literal animal print on blouses – I have a FCUK one that has OWLS on it, and I’m a huge fan. This one on you is absolutely DARLING! The cat shoes are a no for me, though. I’ll stick to leopard and zebra only. 🙂
Peaches said:
Hahahhaa oh Smita! I don’t blame you, owl prints ARE cute – as long as they don’t start churning prints of owls catching mice… hehee I don’t own a leopard or zebra print shoe, I’m always not adventurous on my feet!

I love the one that you bought, it’s so cute! I do love animal prints though, I have a cute top with elephants on it and it’s my absolute favorite!

Not Just A Pretty Dress said:
Actually I simply loved the red cat dress (printed silk chemisiere is very me…): I saw it in a shop and the quality is really good. Of course the price tag is very challenging, but I left my fashion heart on that dress…I am a fan of the Charlotte Olympia kitty shoes as well, but I prefer the loafer version. The top you found looks lovely and it’s the perfect way to channel this trend, great pick!
Peaches said:
I can actually imagine that dress on you, and you pulling it off! Well at least the quality is good – VB doesn’t disappoint! You’re right, I’ve seen the loafer versions around and it does look cute! Thanks, gotta love a great bargain! 😀

I wouldn’t give a fortune to buy this trend. So yes you did the best job buying this blouse which is so cheaper! it looks great on you!

I wouldn’t too, Tina! Thanks! Gotta love a good bargain 😉

I actually love that cat print dress 🙂 And those cat heels are so fun!

They’d look great on your skin colour – it wouldn’t suit me! 😉

The top looks beautiful on you & I love the back, can’t believe it was so cheap! I so agree with you on the VB dress, but I actually love the red cat face platforms! I’d be very tempted if they were to go in the sale, I’d never pay full price for them but I think I’d find them hard to resist at 50% off… Hah!
Peaches said:
Thanks Stephanie, the back is awesome isn’t it?? If only branded items would be cheaper….but that’d beat the purpose of luxury items yes? 😉

I like your top better than VB’s dresses I have to say! Cute accessorizing with the belt too. If you’re going to do print do it big time I say 🙂

That is SUCH a cute top! I would not wear cat prints since my style is more minimalistic but as a huge cat lover I totally approve.
Peaches said:
Hahaha I never thought I’d be wearing cat print either, maybe if you try one it’ll stick on you 😀

It’s not easy to get cat prints or perhaps I did’t search high and low enough. I’m into swallow and horse prints, came across a new website and saw these 2 unique designs, bought them straight away. I wish we have more than asos.com in UK. :p
