It’s no surprise that I’m currently in LOVE with prints! Here, I’ve got both Aztec print and pops of neon on this loose tee. Happy, bright prints make my day and I’m always on the lookout for them. Especially during the current flash sales that are happening everywhere I wore this to university with the sun shining so brightly and it definitely lifted my mood!

What is YOUR current fashion love for this Spring and Summer?

Can you believe that this is my first and only pair of Converse? I’ve had them since 2007 while in college that currently my shoes are so soiled, slightly holey and the ‘All Star’ tag barely visible (the picture doesn’t do its current state justice, really!).

However, I do like my pair of Converse looking really worn out I feel that it adds character! So much so  that whenever I see someone wearing new Converse shoes I have this almost-tendency to step on them. Hehe. Beware, new Converse shoes!

Work Outfit For < £35!

YAY it’s my birthday today! Thank you Minty for the lovely post!

However, I had my disposal hearing case today (I was for the Defendant) at 2pm so I could only properly celebrate after 4pm! Hence, the “work” outfit! I don’t like boring you with work outfits (and I’m NOT even working!), but I realised that what I was wearing today was below £35 with 2 items being on sale! Fantastic!

Observe:

Not counting my Sereni & Shentel x Anna Coroneo printed silk headband in Spring Fling (it’s £25 on its own) which was a birthday present from Minty! I wore it for advocacy today for good luck It worked to calm my nerves. Good going, Mints!

Omitting my lovely headband, the rest of my outfit: blazer, layered top and high-waisted skirt were less than £35!

How is that for cheap? A work outfit shouldn’t be expensive, and sales are the best places to get them!

Thank you for all the birthday wishes, I am looking forward to Japanese tonight and a good night of partying before I begin work tomorrow for next week’s load. Sad life of a barrister-to-be eh?

PTW: What A Tunic Is For

I’ve been “shopping in my closet” (saves money!), and recently found a cotton tunic deep down in one of my boxes. As I am currently doing my Bar in the UK right now, I am required to dress up in suits whenever I have Advocacy sessions (giving speeches in mock courtrooms).

However, I didn’t want to buy a whole new “work” wardrobe so have found ways to team up different pieces of clothing together.

Whatever the top is, I find that teaming it with a high-waisted skirt is always going to be flattering and most importantly, professional.

So here’s how I wore my cotton tunic top (Topshop) today:

As I am petite enough, I am able to pull off the tunic as a shirtdress.

However, it hides well under a high-waisted skirt (I’ve had this skirt since 2005!) and if you’ve forgotten to iron your clothes (which I can’t be bothered to do), hiding your crumpled top under a high-waisted skirt lessens the damage that you look like a slob

Pop on a blazer and I am now decent for my advocacy presentation:

I don’t normally wear jewellery to my classes, they are most distracting (I’d end up fiddling with my bracelet while presenting)! So the only way I could be subtle in the accessory department was to splash summer colours onto my nails! I am wearing Lemon (307) from Barry M on my nails

Arrived home around 5pm today after a heavy day at university, and slipped into something more casual and comfortable:

Autumn is nearly ending, bringing with it the cold winter. What better way to feel warm and toasty than in a faux fur-lined casual zipped jumper?

I am wearing a green faux fur hoodie from Asos, Headband from Sereni & Shentel x Anna Coroneo in Spring Fling (a present from Minty).

Of course, there are many ways to wear a tunic – when I have more time I’ll start being creative! For now, even getting out bed is already a chore

After months of deliberation, I finally took the plunge and bought myself a green 13″ Cambridge satchel during my recent trip down to Melbourne!!!! WOOO-HOO!!

… Erm, and also a 14″ navy satchel, but who’s asking anyway.

Really love my satchels (DON’T LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT, IT WAS TOO HARD TO JUST BUY ONE AFTER MONTHS OF SEE-SAWING BETWEEN COLOURS AND SIZES) even though mine aren’t engraved, and I honestly can’t stop fondling them like some kind of bag pervert. 

If you see a small Asian girl with non-existent calves hugging and cooing at a satchel in a corner, you’ve probably just spotted me in a moment of euphoria. 

….

Sorry you had to see that, world.

Peaches’ review stands - the colour is amazing, it’s well-made, the stitches aren’t unraveling.. It goes on, but you can really just read Peaches’ review (if you haven’t already), because there’s nothing I could say that she hasn’t already covered in her post.

Oh yea. And if you’re in Melbourne and currently searching high and low for a place to check a Cambridge Satchel out in person, mosey on over to Cottage Industry on 67, Gertrude Street in Fitzroy! The lady behind the till was really friendly and helpful despite my disgusting behaviour – modeling nearly every single colour they had on display (and consequently nearly missing my meeting… but again, who’s asking??). She never once gave me the Evil Eye or suggested that I hurry the hell up, so MAJOR THUMBS UP! Love that.

Also, they had a whole jar of these really cool fake plastic mustaches that you can hold up to your face by a stick, which were for sale that I really wanted to get but couldn’t, because I was receiving a couple of highly sexist remarks from my own brother. Gaaah the betrayal.

Honestly, there really wasn’t a good enough reason for his screeching: “WHY DO YOU NEED A FAKE MUSTACHE?!!? YOU’RE A GIRL!!”

How did we ever come from the same womb?!!?

Some people have no sense of humour.

It is Sereni & Shentel’s first collaboration with Australian-born artist Anna Coroneo who now resides in New York. Before I knew about the collaboration, I had never heard about Coroneo but I’m glad I now do.

Her bright, colourful and simply gorgeous print paintings look even better when transferred into fashion! You have to check her out! Visit Coroneo’s site here. I love love LOVE the prints and they make the perfect summer dress!

I am so excited Sereni & Shentel is making a special collaboration with Coroneo for their Block Party headbands. Anna Coroneo is now on Sereni & Shentel headbands! I can now have something of both This coming Monday (19 September 2011) Sereni & Shentel will be finally releasing the Limited Edition headbands and I definitely want to get my hands on these gorgeous headbands!

Which ones of these 7 do you like?

I AM SPOILT FOR CHOICE! *cries* They’re ALL so GORGEOUS!!!

But if I were to choose, I’d choose the 5th and 6th headband because I am a fan of turquoise and I love the burst of colour! I am hoping to get my hands on them when they have been released.
